The Center for Global Partnership (CGP) was established within the Japan Foundation in April 1991 with offices in both Tokyo and New York. To carry out its mission, CGP supports an array of institutions and individuals,
including nonprofit organizations, universities, policymakers, scholars and educators, and believe in the power of broad-based, multi-channel approaches to effect positive change.

 

CGP Grant Program    

 

CGP’s Grant Program supports Japan-U.S. collaborative policy-oriented
projects.

 

 

 

 

Abe Fellowship

 

This program fosters the
development of a new generation of researchers interested in policy-relevant
topics of long-range importance..

 

Education Program    

 

This program increases understanding of Japan in the US through support of K-12 teacher training and community outreach efforts.

 

 

 

Japan Outreach Initiatives (JOI)

 

Jointly administered with the Laurasian Institution, JOI sends Japanese individuals as volunteer outreach coordinators.

 

Japan America Societies (JAS) Initiative    

 

Launched in 2008 to support Japan America Societies, CGP will devote $120,000 per year for three years (2008-2010) to the JAS Initiative.
